Education is the essence of a development of a community, an educated community will produce a virtuous society that reflects the potential of a community and the country itself. However, we can see that the needs and rights of education are mostly ignored or denied either by ignorance or due to limited resources especially for the aboriginal community in Malaysia. Therefore, our aim as an aborigine base society in IIUM is to raise their awareness in the importance of education and pave the path for them to guide them to achieve their dreams.

COMRADE Club is one of the IIUM aborigine base societies that focus on outreach, spreading da’wah and social services in the aboriginal community. Aligned with our goals and missions to help develop and improve their life, we have come up with an annual program called Genius Genesis (GG) that helps provide academic motivation and training for the children to attract their interest in education while improving their soft-skills through engaging and fun activities. As Genius Genesis for students from SMK Ulu Kinta and SMK Panggung Jaya have been conducted successfully, the proposed programme which “coaching for excellence and knowledge” would be a great initiative to further increase their exposure on pathway after secondary education.  

Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Ulu Kinta is a highschool located in Perak where the school consists of an estimated 100 students. The school is equipped with a hostel for aboriginal students and other facilities that are provided by the government. Meanwhile, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Panggung Jaya is located in Kelantan where it also consists of aboriginal students too. Hence, these two schools are the main focus and aim for this program.

COMRADE CLUB IIUM has built a strong connection with SMK Ulu Kinta and SMK Panggung Jaya through years of collaborations and programs that are conducted with the cooperation and understanding from both sides. Therefore, these programs aim to expand and tie the connection in a new way by combining these two schools together in one program.

Thus, the purpose of this programme is set to be the catalyst and providing a boost for the aborigine students educational journey, in hopes that they will thrive and become successful in the future. This programme is focusing on how to provide the students with the potential educational path that they can choose, polishing their thinking skills and developing their soft-skills along the way.
