Module 1: Recognising Letters and Syllables (KV, KVKV) (Students learn to identify and pronounce letters and basic syllables like KV and KVKV) Objective: To enable students to recognise and pronounce individual letters correctly as it is crucial for early reading skills & proper pronunciation Students will first be taught to recognise and pronounce the vowel and consonant letters. Once familiar, they will learn syllables by singing fun, repetitive songs for each KV and KVKV pattern (e.g., ba-bi-bu-be-bo, baba-bibi-bubu-bebe-bobo). Use flashcards, matching games, and clapping activities to reinforce sound and syllable recognition. |

Module 2: Prefixes & Suffixes (Students learn how adding prefixes and suffixes changes the meaning of base words) ● Objective: To understand how prefixes and suffixes change the meaning or function of base words. ● Students will first be taught base words (e.g., lari, main, tulis), then move on to learning prefixes along with example sentences (e.g., berlari, bermain). Afterward, they will learn suffixes with sentences (e.g., tuliskan, bacakan). ● We will use a “Build-a-Word” station where students match base words with prefixes or suffixes on colored cards to form new words. ● Follow this with a sentence-building game where they create sentences using their new words and read them aloud in pairs or groups. ● For reinforcement, they will play a prefix/suffix sorting race with word cards to boost speed and recognition in a fun, competitive way. |
